free.

I don't know where to begin. Today I feel free.
No longer am I restrained.

Yesterday I traded a life of constant stress and worry for one of creative thinking and positivity.

My first day as a freelancer started with a lovely slow start. After Andrew left for work I fed the animals and took a long shower. I threw my hair back and set off with Sage, my parents' goofy black lab mix.

Our first stop was Starbucks. I'm usually not a huge fan of spending more than $4 for a decent cup of coffee, but I decided that it was deserved.

The lady at the drive through was so sweet, she gave Sage what she called a "Puppy whip" - aka a baby cup of whipped cream. We both felt special as we continued on our little adventure.

We stopped at a great little tree park at the edge of town and parked our bums below a tree in the center of the acreage. We listened to Ellie and enjoyed the sun.

Springtime.

Wow it's been entirely too long. The last seven months have gone by so fast. There have been wonderful days full of memorable moments, lazy days full of dreaming and days like this ... I hate to be negative but I feel horrible! Everyone in my house has been ill in the last month, I think we all need a bit of vitamin c. Luckily, the sun has finally arrived after a long rainy winter. We didn't get much snow, but we managed to get more rain than we've ever had! Andrew has enjoyed he rain.. he lives for the sound of raindrops on the roof in the early morning, he says it reminds him of him homeland.

Speaking of England, I am absolutely troubled by the fact that we haven't been in over a year! It's wonderful being near my family but I am longing for the Kent countryside and a nice cup of tea with my English family. Most recently, my life has consisted of work and sleep. The last couple of months have been extremely busy at work and I feel as though I have no time to think let alone blog. I'm loving having the ability to blog in bed today, to "write it out" if you will.

Before getting ill this weekend, I did something special that I've been meaning to do for years! It had been 10 long years since I'd been in the saddle before Saturday afternoon! I've recently been in contact with my 4-H club leader, a great friend who last knew me when I was a preteen! I rode Manda, a rescue pony who, despite being 27 years old, has a lot of spunk! There is just something about being an extra four feet up, it just gives that entirely new perspective.

Until next time!
